From a typewritten English language summary in folder: Sent aboard the frigate Flora commanded by Nicolás Noé, this letter written in secretarial hand and signed by ship captain Juan José [De?] Zertaje, provides an accounting of expenditures in favor of Mission San Buenaventura, reports on the unavailability of lead bells, and remits an accounting by Manuel de Mier y Escalante regarding tallow previously shipped to Acapulco but remained at San Blas because the port there was still under siege. A portion of the tallow was taken by a royal agent and payment had not yet been received. Other details include remarks on the situation in central New Spain, Spanish troops arriving at Veracruz to take care of the "cannalas", and Russia declaring war on France.
