Sarah G. Talcott autograph album, 1854-1861.

Talcott's autograph album contains the signatures of fifty-one classmates at Mt. Holyoke Seminary and her pastor, Albert Smith. There are three notes laid in and a list of Mt. Holyoke Seminary class of 1855. The album was published by J.C. Riker, New York, and contains ten engravings: Saratoga Lake (frontispiece); "The Rescue" by Durand & Co. (Edward Corbould); and by A.L. Dick, title page (drawing by F.W. Topham); "Flora MacIvor" (drawing by J.J. Jenkins), "The Miniature" (E. Corbould), "Happy Moments" (painted by C.R. Leslie); "Highland Mary" (J.M. Wright), "The Valentine" (J. Hayter), "Little Red Riding Hood" (painted by E. Landseer, R.A.), and "Interior of a Highlanders Cottage" (painted by E. Landseer, R.A.).

Sarah Goodrich Talcott was born in 1835 to Allyn and Martha G. Robbins Talcott. Her sister Martha Robbins Talcott graduated from Mount Holyoke in 1866. Sarah graduated from Mount Holyoke in 1855, and taught in South Hadley for a short time. She died in 1862.
