Anna was happy to hear from Edwin and looking forwardto him coming home. Tells of her lonliness. Wiltshire is to publish The Challenge. She discusses there cat Kyka and there son who she has tauht a bedtime prayer. Refers to Paul Dana. She will have cousin John Gilman come over when Edwin is home. Virgil miss his father and wants him to come home to him and Kyka.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899).
