Hermann found 2 letters written by Virgil's father to the Whitneys. Hermann can arrange for a handwriting comparison if he would like. Both letters deal with death of Whitney's wife Estelle and other members of his family. Mrs. Helms added that it might be advisable to obtain the portrait of she painted of Markham from the Poetry Center. He refers to Anita Browne has been ill. Letters are enclosed # 24.1 dated May 6, 1918 deals with the death of Estelle and Letter #25 dated Jan 24, 1921 deals with death of Mr. Whitney, i believe.
