Two fragmentary partbooks, c. 1520 : correspondence files, 1984-1998.

Correspondence between Robert Spencer and Jeremy Noble concerning two fragmentary partbooks in Spencer's possession in 1984. There is also correspondence between James Coover, Director of the Music Library at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and Spencer regarding the library's proposed purchase of the partbooks. Also included, a letter from Noble to Nancy Bren Nuzzo concerning this collection and a paper about it by Noble titled "A hitherto unrecorded source of early 16th-century motets (paper delivered at AMS Chapter meeting, Geneseo, N.Y., 4/24/87"; the paper is included in the present collection.

The Pan-American Exposition was held in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1901.
