[Documents concerning Eleazer Frary, 1782-1791].

Documents include three letters from Solomon Ensign of Hartford to Eleazer Frary of Hatfield dated 18 March 1782, 22 April 1784 and 28 March 1785. There is one undated ADS from Joseph Holmes and a copy of Eleazer Frary's will dated 7 December 1791.

Joseph Holmes operated an iron forge in Kingston, Ma., probably near the mouth of Jones River. He was also involved in the establishment of a school in Kingston. By 1814, the iron mill was operated by Hyde, Holmes, & Co. Another early 19th century iron forge operated by the Holmes family specialized in making anchors.
