The collection contains a manuscript essay "Our Jap" relating the influence of a Japanese cook and housekeeper on the family and his subsequent doubts as to the wisdom of Austrailans and Californians who wish to bar Japanese immigrants. The mansucript is in a folder from agents Brandt & Kirkpatrick. There is also a letter to Will Orton Tewson stating that "Wounded with beauty in the summer night" from "Marpessa" by Stepen Phillips is the most beautiful line.
