The bulk of the materials fall between 1956-1993, and document Myers's diverse research interests. Correspondence includes communications between editors, fellow writers and historians, including Leon Metz and Marc Simmons. Myers's involvement with a number of historical societies is illustrated though his organizational files. A manuscript series includes drafts in various stages, and background materials compiled when Myers wrote The Pearl of the Pecos. Myers's research of Seven Rivers, New Mexico, is well documented. Also among Myers's research materials are number of paper towels with holograph notes regarding mining. The photographs include images of forts, ghost towns, ruins, and excavations, as well as reenactments and dedications.
