Francis Smith accounts for the Brig Betsey, 1796 October-December.

Accounts for the Brig Betsey and her cargo, loaded at Norwich Landing, Connecticut, and sold at Wilmington, North Carolina. Smith, a ship's captain, evidently was working for merchants Andrew and Joseph Perkins. Includes lists of cargo carried for other individuals for sale, and the sailors' accounts with the vessel. Products sold in North Carolina include potatoes, cider, pork, beef, cheese, bread, rum and hay.
