Includes correspondence to Charlotte Baldwin Nettleton from her brother, Charles, and his wife, Lizzie; her future husband, Lewis Nettleton; her aunt, Charlotte Baldwin Higby; several friends; and her nieces and cousins. Also contains Charlotte Baldwin Nettleton's 1868 diary and correspondence from her to her parents, David Lewis Baldwin and Martha DeWitt Baldwin, and to her future husband, Lewis Nettleton. Includes correspondence to Lewis Nettleton from his sisters, Emily, Nancy, and Hannah, and his brother, David. Also includes correspondence from Charles Baldwin to his parents, David and Martha. Contains an account book for the Ladies Benevolent Union of the First Congregational Church in Milford and a list of veterans buried in Milford cemeteries. Also includes seemingly unrelated correspondence of the Penfield family including correspondence from James A. Penfield to his future wife, Helen Matson, called Nellie, of East Windsor. Also contains letters to Nellie Matson from friends and certificates qualifying her to teach school in Glastonbury. Includes essays, poetry, calling cards, a folder of assorted and partial letters, and other assorted papers that may belong to either the Baldwin and Nettleton families or the Penfield family.
