The letter is written by Mabel's husband Dicky to The Colonel, Mr. Markham. They are try to reach Markham. He seems to be in Kentucky. Dick would like Markham to take up with John Ward Dunsmore, the greatest painter. Dick discusses him and includes two pgs. of a Catalogue list of all of his paintings. They are on display at the Majestic Art Gallery and Salon at the Hotel Majestic. Dick has purchased one of Morzart seated at this piano for the Wagnalls Memorial in honor of Mabel. He refers to John's director position for the Centennial of the National Academy of Design.
