Senior rabbi of Anshe Chesed Congregation in Beachwood, Ohio, from 1958 to 1986, and senior rabbi emeritus from 1986 until his death in 1996. He played key roles in national and local Jewish organizations and fought actively for civil rights. He married Teela C. Stovsky Himelfarb in 1965.
