Papers include: correspondence, appointment books, subject files, newspaper clippings, genealogical materials, campaign records, and other material documenting Clay Myers's active participation in Oregon state government and his activities in the banking and investment business. Myers' papers also document his involvement with the National Interfraternity Conference and his active participation in the Episcopal Church. Also included are some of Myers' father's records detailing his involvement in logging. Among these records are a patent for improving logging truck trailers and records of the ensuing court battles over that patent.

Clay Myers, a fifth-generation Oregonian from pioneer stock, was born May 27, 1927, in Portland and grew up in Tillamook. He attended Benson Tech High School (Portland), received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon (Eugene) in 1949 and pursued graduate studies in law at Northwestern College in Portland.
