John Wroughton Mitchell letters, 1829-1840.

Three of the five letters in this collection are from John J. Mayer to John Mitchell of Charleston, South Carolina. They were written from Savannah, Georgia between Septemter 10, 1829 and November 2, 1829, and they relate to Mitchell's help in selling Mayer's Charleston property. A letter dated March 24, 1834, from William Brownjohn in Savannah to Mitchell, sends Stephen Britton's promissory note and introduces a John D. Street. The fifth letter, dated February 28, 1840, from Richard D. Arnold in Savannah to Mitchell, concerns the health of a Mr. Green and mentions Arnold's wife and nieces.
