United Rubber Workers Local 310 of Des Moines, Iowa was chartered in 1945 to represent workers at the Fred B. Prophet Company, also known as Firestone Tire & Rubber Company Retread Shop. Many members of Local 310 were former members of URW Local 235 at the Des Moines Ordnance Plant which had closed in 1945. The Local also included workers at the Goodyear Retread Shop.
