Photographs of the Brown and Winsor families and their activities in Tucson, the Sahuarita Ranch and Yuma. There are family picnics, tennis, and groups at Sahuarita Ranch. There are images of Clara Brown cooking in the kitchen, playing tennis, and more. Photographs of Mulford Winsor include a 1919 school group at Shadyside School in Yuma, making cascarones for a children's party, and the interior shop of a Prescott newspaper. Images of the Brown home at 422 S. 5th Avenue are also present.

Pioneer rancher and Pima County sheriff; Brown married Olive Letitia Stephenson in 1879 and they moved to Sahuarita where they ran the Sahuarita Ranch as a stagecoach station and post office until 1890. Their first daughter, Clarissa later married Mulford Winsor. Their son, J.K. Brown, Jr. married Elsie Siewert Brown. Elsie was a sister to Edith Monier, wife of Quintus Monier who founded Tucson Pressed Brick Co., was mayor of Tucson, and built San Augustine Cathedral among other local buildings....

Editor, publisher and politician; established the Yuma Sun newspaper in 1896; worked on the Tucson Citizen from 1901 to 1903, the Phoenix Enterprise from 1903 to 1905, established the Yuma Morning Sun in 1905, then worked on the Daily Globe from 1907 to 1910. Active in politics, he was appointed Arizona's first historian in 1909, held many posts in territorial and state government, and was appointed state librarian in 1932, a position he held until his death in 1956.
