Plowville National Plowing Contest records, 1960-2008.

Collection consists of materials relating to the September 1964 National Plowing Contest. The contest was held at the Elmer and Ramona Fraase farm near Buffalo, North Dakota. The materials include minutes of meetings, correspondence, other items relating to the planning and execution of the event. Also included are scrapbooks, compiled by the Fraases, of newspaper clippings about the Plowville event. Some dignitaries in attendance include 1964 Democratic Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, 1964 Republican Presidential nominee Barry Goldwater, Governor William "Bill" Guy, future Governor George Sinner, and Democratic nominee for the United States House of Representatives, Rolland Redlin. Maps and blueprints of the site and the Department of Transportation plans for constructing an exit to the event from I-94 are also included in the collection.
