Frederick W. Benteen collection addendum, 1833-1978.

The collection consists of photographs of family members and military friends of Frederick W. Benteen. There is a photograph album of religious pictures. Also included is a flag that was used to drape the coffin of Mrs. Stephens Mitchell (Anita Benteen Mitchell) who was a granddaughter of Frederick W. Benteen. Frederick W. Benteen's commission paper is included as well. It is dated 1864 November 23 and commissions him to brigadier general.
