Hancock reminiscences, 1911-1935.

1911-1935

Reminiscences, mostly in the form of letters, about his early experiences in Cochise County. There are also two letters from James W. Baker, legislator, about his memory of Charleston, Tombstone, the outlaws and lawmen. Newspaper clippings from Cochise County newspapers are also present. Hancock's reminiscences cover the ranching in San Simon Valley, Galeyville militia, Tombstone in the 1880s, Tom Horn, fraud in the election between Charlie Shibbel and Bob Paul, and the personnel credited for the surrender of Geronimo. He has detailed notes correcting Walter Noble Burns book "Tombstone".
