Richard Dennis Arnold papers, 1832-1855.

This collection contains a receipt for a medical bill, a will appointing Dr. Arnold Trustee and Executor, and excerpts from "Colligere," Dr. Arnold's diary. The will is of Maria Cohen of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, 1855. Cohen was a woman of color; her will leaves her estate, personal property, and two slaves, John and Eve, to Dr. Arnold in trust for her children, Hannah and Abraham. Arnold's diary includes a description of the Minis-Stark duel, the Rose-Brown affair, Arnold's comments on love, Dr. Waring's attitude toward drink, thoughts on Mary Higbee McIntosh and on poverty, negotiations regarding Georgian, accomplishments of Maj. Gen. Scott, description of his wedding and first child, musings on matrimony and on drink, death of Bob Warren, anecdotes, resolutions, and Mayor M. Hall McAllister.
