The collection comprises the personal papers of micropaleontologist Frances Lawrence Parker, who worked at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD from 1950 until her retirement in 1973. The collection includes a few items of correspondence dated 1936-1980, a photocopy of Parker's 1932 travel diary, awards including the Joseph A. Cushman Award presented to her in 1981, six photographs, and Parker's University of California, Scripps Institution of Oceanography security badge. Parker's 1932 travel diary documents her trip to central Europe with micropaleontologist Joseph A. Cushman. The original diary was transcribed and photocopied by Parker to remove private passages. The original diary was destroyed by Parker.
