Joel Buttles papers, 1835-1850.

Papers consist of miscellaneous notes, including 10 pages on architecture and notes regarding Buttles' lots and his taxes in Hebron; diary entries from 1835-1836 and 1848-1850, detatched from two diaries kept by Joel Buttles and cataloged as VFM 4586 in the collections of the Ohio Historical Society; and a 16 p. letter from Charles Fox to Harvey Matthews in Columbus Ohio. The letter contains a copy of a document written by [Bishop] Charles T. McIlvaine regarding a controversy between Rev. Charles Fox and Rev. William Preston at Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus, Ohio.
