Recipients: John Quincy Adams, T. Allston Brown, Warren Bryant, William E. Burton, Fitz-Greene Halleck, Gabriel Harrison, [Joseph Stevens] Jones, Noah Ludlow, C. Manly, [Edwin Dennison Morgan], John R[enshaw] Thomson, Gulian C. Verplanck, Wallack's Theatre Corps Dramatique, Francis C. Wemyss and John B. Wright. Not all letters are autograph signed. (12) is a brief character reference of Andrew Johnson in the form of a letter written after the 1865 inauguration when was sworn in as Vice President.
