Series 1, ranging in date from 1984 to 1992, consists of bound volumes containing records submitted to the Graduate Board regarding the completion of Masters and Doctoral degrees in the schools of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Public Health and Hygiene, Medicine, and the School of Advanced International Studies. Series 2, 1978-1988, is arranged chronologically and is made up of both files and bound volumes containing the records of the Graduate Board Committee meetings. In addition to the committee minutes, the series includes correspondence pertaining to extensions of non-resident status (including some transcripts), lists of candidates for degrees, written proposals from new programs seeking permission to award the Ph. D. and written special requests. Series 3, 1983-1992, contains assorted records concerning administrative matters and graduate students. These include examination guidelines, consultants for computer programs, and student termination reports.
