Vera Ethel Bollinger was born at Island Lake, ND on October 15, 1894 to Emma Jordan and Charles A. Bollinger. Vera graduated from Bisbee high school in 1912. She attended the University of North Dakota, earning her teachers certificate (1915), B.A. in English and Speech (1919) and M.Ed. (1930).
