ArchivalResource

Pictorial material from the Grunsky family papers [graphic]. ca. 1850-1931.

California views show the San Francisco Bay (with boats and ships), Chinese children in San Francisco (photos by McKinne), Telegraph Hill, buildings in Stockton (Lottie Grunsky Grammar School, C.M. Weber's residence, a general town view), and a houseboat used to survey California's water resources. Views from Egypt (and a few from Greece and Turkey) seem to be sketches made on a trip in 1927, and depict pyramids, boats, and scenes along the Nile River; a waterfront view of Smyrna (Izmir); the Greek coastline; and similar scenes. Also included are Grunsky and Powers family portraits and family snapshots.
