Helen Hall Freeman scrapbook, 1913-1942; bulk: 1933-1938.

Scrapbook kept by Helen Hall (Haskell) Freeman of Cambridge, Mass., a journalist who wrote about fishing journeys and life in the 1930s for such newspapers as the Boston Herald and the Boston Sunday Post. Includes articles written and collected by Freeman focusing on traditions and superstitions of fishermen; journal entries which describe her voyages from Gloucester, Mass. in the schooner Gertrude L. Thebaud and the trawler S.S. Helka, 1933-1938; photographs, mostly taken by Freeman, of the fishing crew; sketches of ships; and memorabilia.
