Phrenological character of Master Conrad Sjobig, May 18th, 1903 / given at Fowler & Wells' Phrenological Cabinet, No. 27 East 21st Street, New York, by J.A. Fowler, Practical Phrenologist..

A typescript case report for a phrenological reading of the character and mental development of Conrad Sjobig. It begins, "This young man will be called to do executive work." Reading is accompanied by a cabinet card (11 cm.) of the subject as a young man, from approximately the same era. The seller was the subject's nephew, who wrote in his sales description: "As you read the assessment, keep in mind that Conrad took my great-grandfather's successful railroad car manufacturing business into bankruptcy through poor investments into far-flung companies. As a result, my great-grandfather died a rather penniless man in 1919 and Conrad was disowned by his mother and sisters who largely blamed him for my great-grandfather's death at a relatively early age. Conrad changed his name and moved to the west coast." Bound in illustrated printed wrappers, secured at top by two clasps. Inner upper wrapper contains "Principles of phrenology" text; lower wrapper advertises the proprietor. Wrappers are very brittle and deteriorating.

[28] leaves ; 22 cm.
