Horace Fenn family papers and Plymouth historical documents, 1796-1921.

Primarily business and family correspondence of a Plymouth, Connecticut, farmer, probate judge, postmaster, and real estate agent. The bulk of his correspondence is from his sons Willis and J. Lincoln and from his brother S. He also corresponded with Ward Terry, Ralph North, Charles Baldwin, and his wife Ellen. Horace served as Treasurer of the Congregational Church of Plymouth and the Plymouth Library Association, so records of both organizations are found in this collection. Of particular interest among Horace's papers are a farm journal in which he recorded crops he planted, and a record of currant sales. Also among his papers can be found account books, bills and receipts, legal documents and records of settling various estates, including estate inventories and wills. William W. Bull, a Plymouth, Conn., lawyer is represented in the collection by incoming correspondence and records for settling the estates of Ira Bull and William's brother Henry C. The Plymouth documents consist of several retail business inventories and an undertaker and furniture maker's account book. J. Lincoln Fenn was clerk of the Superior Court and a lawyer. He is further represented in the collection by his account books, 1894-1913.
