James F. Grimes letter to Sarah Jones [manuscript], 1864 April 29.

Grimes, Camp near Nokesville, Va., writes to Jones about their relief by a Negro portion of the Corps to which the Orange and Alexandria railroad supervisor objects and the recent killing of M. W. Flannery who had a concealed certificate identifying him as a member of Mosby's Partisan Rangers. He would like to send a captured pistol home and closes by encouraging Sarah, sending some flowers picked near the railroad (impressions left on letter paper) and looking forward to the future.
