A short statement on literary interest in general. He begins, "One of a literary class whose functions are extinct in this stirring age of steam and reform ... " Singer ends by writing that he "was honored and benefited by the friendship of Frances Douce." Signed by Singer as the Librarian of the Royal Institution, Secretary to the Travellers, resident at Mickleham, Surrey, January 2, 1836.
