William Craig Chaplin papers 1845.

Papers include two letters written by Lt. William Craig Chaplin to Capt. John Percival of the U.S.S. Constitution. The letters detail his visit to the Sultan of Borneo and Dutch Governor Baumgardt in an effort to promote trade. The letters also provide some account of Borneo's geography, trade and commerce.
