The YWCA of Grand Forks Records was initiated by a donation of YWCA of the University of North Dakota records. Earlier YWCA of UND records are located in the University Archives (UND). An addition contains records from the YWCA of GF. YWCA of UND records include correspondence (1950-1963), old programs (1958-1962), financial records (1927-1963), the 1957 constitution, 1963 disbanding papers, minutes (1917-1963), and a scrapbook containing material from the 1939 YWCA Student Conference at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The YWCA of GF records include scrapbooks (1905-1970) and minutes (1925-1963). The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, programs, pamphlets, invitations, flyers, and photographs. Scrapbooks include information about daily YWCA activities and affiliated groups, such as Girl Reserves and Business and Professional Girls Club.

The Young Women's Christian Association of the University of North Dakota was organized in 1893 to promote religious, educational and physical activities. An Advisory Board, consisting of faculty and their spouses, alumni and friends, and a Senior Cabinet, consisting of student members, led the group.
