Reporting that he managed to recover his lost baggage; commenting on how much he enjoyed Molière's Le medicin malgré lui; noting various British acquaintances he has seen in Paris; telling her about his new pair of boots in "the newest Parisian fashion"; describing a play called the Whirlwind that he saw in Rouen; mentioning a possible trip to Nice and asking whether she could send him £100 "upon the strength of [his] M.S. and Chapman and Hall"; encouraging his family to come to France.
