Patriotic photograph [picture], ca. 1915.

Photograph taken of a display containing various images of Ulysses S. Grant and Grenville M. Dodge, apparently taken for patriotic purposes. The images are all framed and displayed with an American flag draped down the middle. One image shows Grant wearing a general's uniform in his photograph, whose caption notes that the picture is from wartime. The second image pertaining to Grant has a caption that reads "Awaiting the Last Roll Call," and shows a dying and elderly Grant sitting in a chair as a woman in classical dress holding a laurel wreath looks on and a crowd of bedraggled ghostly soldiers cheer. The photograph of Dodge depicts him wearing a civilian suit. A handwritten caption notes that he was eighty-four when the picture was taken in 1915. There is writing on the back that indicates the photograph was presented by Levi M. Bresee, adjutant of the 12th Wisconsin Infantry.
