Valley of the Moon records, 1935-1983.

Correspondence, manuscripts, and business records of the Valley of the Moon amusement park. Correspondence is related to business and thank you letters from visitors. There are a few manuscripts by Legler expressing his philosophy. A guest register contains names of visitors from 1937 to 1955. There are also meeting minutes, blueprints for improvements, an abstract of title, pamphlets, and financial statement.

George Phar Legler purchased 2 1/2 acres of land on Allen Road, Tucson, Ariz. in 1923. He constructed an series of caves, tunnels, towers, rock villages, waterfalls, dragons and gnomes and opened the Valley of the Moon in 1932 as a children's theme park. Legler gave magic shows and fairy tours; in the 1940s, he produced "Bunnyland", an eleven-act theater program featuring rabbits dressed for various roles.
