George Jones Kollock private papers [microform], 1871-1894.

The collection consists of the private papers of George Jones Kollock from 1971-1894 and includes letters dated 1971-1906; 45 pocket-size diaries of Kollock from 1850-1894; materials relating to his legal practice with John M. Miller in the firm Miller and Kollock, Savannah, Georgia, overseers of contracts, 1849-1861, and letters from 1830-1859. Some letters, 1799-1850, were published in the Georgia historical quarterly, vol. 30, nos. 3-4; vol. 31, nos. 1-4; vol. 32, nos. 1-2. George Jones Kollock (1810-1894) was the son of Dr. Lemuel Kollock and Maria (Campbell) Kollock, daughter of Macartan Campbell. He practiced law in Savannah from 1832-1836, then moved to Woodlands near Clarkesville, in Habersham County, Georgia, keeping overseers on his plantations.
