Jennie M. Brown scrapbooks, 1920-1965.

The collection consists of a scrapbook and a photograph album created by Jennie M. Brown, 1920-1965. The scrapbook, 1923-1965, primarily includes photographs of Brown, her family, friends, and fellow classmates, in addition to invitations and other printed material related to her time as a student at the Atlanta University Senior High School and Atlanta University in the 1920s. Of particular note are several images of Stone Hall and other buildings on the campus. The scrapbook also includes a letter from Brown's mother dated 1965. The second album consists solely of photographs of Brown and her family and friends taken in the 1920s while she lived at 68 Randolph Street, Atlanta, Georgia.

Jennie Mae (Cobb) Brown (1906-1999), an African American resident of Atlanta and graduate of Atlanta University, was born on April 12, 1906 in Illinois. Brown graduated from the Senior High School of Atlanta University in 1923, and went on to graduate from Atlanta University in the late 1920s.
