Letter to A. H. Stephens (Alexander Hamilton), 1834 June 30.

The collection consists of one letter written by Moses L. Barron in Athens, Georgia to Alexander H. Stephens in Crawfordville, Georgia. The first part of the letter is dated June 30, 1834. Barron, a student at the University of Georgia (then called Franklin College) writes of other students, college president Dr. Alonzo Church, and the sectarian difficulties plaguing the college. Stephens was a former student at the college, graduating in 1832. The last portion of the letter is written on July 2 after Barron has graduated. He says, "The scene has very much changed (...) I retract most of what I have said in the first part of this letter."
