Oral history interview with Harvey Ronglien, 29 July 1998.

Ronglien describes his life at the State Public School for Dependent and Neglected Children in Owatonna, Minnesota from 1932-1943. He was the eighth of nine children, born to a farm family near Appleton, Minnesota. In 1932, at age four, he and his brother, Oscar, were taken from the family and placed in the State School. He describes the living quarters, the daily routine and the staff, and discusses the effects, both good and bad, of his growing up at the State School.
