This collection contains Robert S. Davis, Jr.'s correspondence, photocopies, maps, articles, genealogies, and research notes from 1980 to 1990 on British engineers in Georgia during the American Revolution, particularly Lt. John Wilson (1755-1798) and Lt. Col. Archibald Campbell of the 71st Highlander Regiment. This research was used in Davis's 1986 publication of Encounters on a march through Georgia. Also included are Davis's research materials relating to Robert R. Henry (1771-1851) of Albany, New York and Savannah, Georgia, his genealogy, and his work as a political activist. Henry arrived in St. Mary's, Georgia in 1822 as a bankrupt businessman and soon began a campaign to expose what he believed was political corruption by Archibald Bellinger Clark (1782-1848) and William Harris Crawford (1772-1834).
