(p. 123) Includes "The Elf King," an English translation of Goethe's ballad made by a German friend. Trelawny discusses the music of the ballad and wishes Fanny to sing it. (p. 127) mentions the death of Dall [Adelaide de Camp], Fanny's aunt and traveling companion, and the Kemble's return trip to England. He also recalls his impetuous ride to Italy in 1820 to see Shelley.
