Papers, 1800-1822 : Cheltenham and Berkeley, England.

His papers begin in 1800 to his family and to a few other physicians and friends. Aside from family and personal history, they reflect the progress of vaccination in England and throughout the world. A few political overtones are contained in the poem to peace in 1802 and in a letter to his brother William in 1803. In 1805 reference is made to brother Stephen and to the epitaph Jenner wished for himself. Included are some letters to Dr. [Thomas] Pruen; Charles Murray; Dr. James Smith (1771-1841); Dr. S.B. LaBatt; and to Nigel Kingscote. The last letters contain some prescriptions and notes on treatments, some biographical notes, and family references. May items are copies of family letters, they were probably made during the life of Jenner's nephew, William Davies, and contains annotations by him. A manuscript diary kept by Jenner in 1812 contains records of cases, with many vaccinations, prescriptions, and miscellaneous data. At the end of the volume are a number of occasional poems inlcuding a poem by Robert Bloomfield on the occasion of Jenner's birthday in 1803. Six autographed prescriptions (1807-1821) are in a bound volume preceded by an engraving.
