Allowance of £58 from the Exchequer to Thomas Reve, upon his petition [manuscript], 1568 March 27.

A petition for payment for various services: 1) attending on Roger Taverner, general surveyor of the queen's woods south of the river Trent and searching records touching the state of the queen's parks, forests, and chases; 2) making copies of these records, totaling 180 sheets of paper (he refers to a warrant dated January 29, 1565); 3) moving the records out of the Lower Treasury of Westminster Abbey, and "sorting and plasying of the same in moche better order"; and 4) for making a "repertorie for the better and redier fynding of all maner of Leagues and Entercourses betwixt Prynce and Prynce." He refers also to a warrant dated June 25, 1567. Signed by Winchester, Lord Treasurer, and Sir Walter Mildmay, Chancellor of the Exchequer, with a note from Humfrey Shelton to Richard Stonley requesting him to make payment.
