This collection contains material created by and for the Battledore Press which was run by Mary and Andrew (Andy) Horn. Items are mostly printed ephemera including invitations, announcements, cards, bookplates, and certificates for various events. They include UCLA library-related gatherings, advertisements for businesses, Christmas and other holiday cards, prints of quotations and other short pieces of literature.

The Battledore Press was the personal press of Mary and Andrew (Andy) Horn. Mary and Andrew printed their first piece on September 8, 1961 (see box 6, folder 3 for the handwritten note about this item). Andrew oversaw the creation of the library school at UCLA in 1959/1960 in addition to being a professor and dean of the school; he also supervised the Horn Press to allow library students the opportunity to print.
