Marion C. Young was born in 1895. She graduated from Neenah (Wisconsin) High School in 1913 and from the Stout Institute in 1915 with a degree in home economics. She taught home economics in the grade schools of Appleton, Wisconsin, from 1916 to 1920 and taught in that town's high school from 1920 to 1926.
