Logbooks, 1896-1898.

Collection includes logbooks of the supply ship Windward, which sailed in support of the Jackson-Harmsworth Expedition to Franz Josef Land. One logbook is dated June 11-August 13, 1896; the second is dated June 10-Sept. 3, 1897 and contains a copy of a letter, dated Jan. 9, 1898, from James Brown, master of the ship, to James Mitchell.
