[Collus O. Johnson (1905-1990)]. 1940-1990.

Collus O. Johnson was an education professor and Associate Director of Adult Education at West Georgia College from 1951 to 1964. In 1967, he became Director of Continuing Education. He was a leader of the "College in the Country," a program to bring education to the region's remote communities through collaboration with the college's faculty and education students. He was instrumental in arranging international "studycades" that allowed local educators and students to participate in foreign exchange travel. The collection contains manuscript materials documenting the programming of College in the Country, a good photograph collection of the various program sites, and awards and honors Johnson received. The collection is divided into five series as follows: awards and honors; manuscript material; photographs; "College in the Country"; guest books.
