Autograph letter signed from Joseph Wright, Derby, to Alderman Boydell, London [manuscript], 1786 December 25.

Wright discusses a painting: "I have considered the subject of Romeo & Juliet and find the scenery must be of more consequence, than in some other subjects." He also refers to a design he has made on the back of a picture of Prospero in his cell when he shews a visionary spectacle to Ferdinand and Miranda.
