Letter signed from P.S., Leiden, to unknown recipient [manuscript], 1687? January.

Sending news from the court of William and Mary at The Hague describing an interview between King James II of England and "Sr. Ja:", probably Sir James Stewart, to have him, Sir James, as a advocate in Scotland, but Sir James declines probably motivated by religion. Also reports an interview between Mary, the Princess of Orange, and her father's envoy Ignatius White, the Marquis d'Albeville, in which she affirms her Protestantism, her right to the succession and her regrets over the suspension of Henry Compton, the Bishop of London, and the envoy relays the King's intention to legitimize his son James Fitzjames, Duke of Berwick.
